Lucky!

Yesterday was St. Patrick's Day, and I spent the day feeling
LUCKY.

Lucky to have such a wonderful, hardworking, loving husband.  Lucky to be mom to the sweetest, cutest girl and boy I know.

I am certainly one lucky lady!

When we woke up in the morning, we realized pretty quickly that our sneaky leprechaun had been working mischief once again!  Oh, that tricky leprechaun! This year he had turned our pictures and paintings upside down, turned the books upside down on the shelves, dyed the toilet water green, turned our milk green, put the couch cushions on the kitchen chairs, turned the barstools upside down, and so on and so on.  At least he sorta redeemed himself by leaving us a black pot full of Lucky Charms and some gold (chocolate) coins!

For dinner, we had shepherd's pie.  It's sort of Irish, right?  At least there were green beans in it, and we made the mashed potatoes green in honor of the day.

And we enjoyed our traditional homemade St. Patrick's Day dessert - Shamrock Shakes! - while playing a rousing family game of Hungry, Hungry Hippos. That is pretty close to heaven right there, if you ask me.  :)

May the luck of the Irish be with you!
