September 2013 - Busy!

Our calendar this month was stuffed full with pleasant busyness.  Book club, PTA meetings, soccer practices and games, birthday parties, scouts, church meetings, home and visiting teaching appointments, play dates, dinner with friends, a piano recital, a trip to the farm, and bottling fruit with friends are only some of the things scribbled on our month of September.  We're living the dream.  :)

Katelee has always wanted to play soccer; this season was her first time playing, and she LOVED it!
She worked very hard and did a great job!
Blake also loved soccer season!  He is a natural as well.  :)
Katelee loves to play goalie!

So fun!
We were also invited to celebrate my Aunt Darla's birthday! We had so much fun!  I made this chocolatey cake for the occasion.  :)
One fun day we went to the Dinosaur Museum with some friends.  It has been a long time since Katelee has been there; she almost couldn't remember it!  And this was Blake's first time.  We had so much fun that we ended the day by buying an annual pass to Thanksgiving Point so that we can enjoy many more fun times!  ;)
My fall piano recital arrived at the end of September.  It was a success for all the students!  Katelee played "Anyone for Tic-Tac-Toe?" She did a great job, even though we forgot to turn on the video camera until the song was more than halfway over - oops!

 Finally, a funny story!
Blake saw the movie Tangled for the first time this month.  The following morning, he rummaged in the kitchen cabinets and pulled out our little egg frying pan.  He proceeded to chase me around and try to hit me with the pan!  Obviously it wasn't funny that he tried to hit me, but I couldn't stop laughing anyway.  I could just see the little wheels turning in his head.  He was only copying what he had seen the characters do that in the movie.  This kid is getting too smart for his own good.  :)  We better be extra careful about what we let him watch on TV!
