Oh, I love this kid.

Third Grade!

The day before school started, I was outside when I saw Katelee's school principal, assistant principal, and office staff walking down the street with a large box.  They stopped to say hello, meet and talk to the kids about the first day of school, and pass out cupcakes.  How cute was that?!  My kids were so thrilled!

 The next day, August 19, 2014, Katelee started the 3rd grade!

She was so excited about her new pencil holder and her water bottle.  :)

Her teacher is Ms. Bawden, and Katelee thinks she is nice.  :)  Katelee is thrilled to be in the same class as many of her friends.  She also was excited to meet a new friend named Ruby.

After school, Katelee came home to find her usual first-day-of-school surprise:

It's hard to believe that my baby girl is getting so grown up!  I sure love and adore this sweet, spunky, smart, kind, thoughtful, helpful, funny little lady!

We love the mountains!

We are so blessed to live so close to beautiful mountains and canyons.  I am so sad that we didn't make time during this busy summer to go camping. Camping is good for the soul. But we still spent some quality time up in the mountains.  For instance one beautiful evening we made tinfoil dinners, grabbed stuff for s'mores, and headed into the mountains only to get caught in a summer rainstorm.  We didn't let the rain stop our fun, though!  We had a great time in the rain, and were all impressed with Gerald's ability to build a great fire despite the wet!
