May 2013 - Speedy!

The month of May this year was so busy and hectic that it just
FLEW BY.

I felt like the month was over before I was hardly aware it had begun...

Life was full of fun but busy things, such as a spring piano recital, monthly book club, responsibilities with my new calling, play group for Blake, a visit from Uncle Geoff, baking, Gerald's scouting, a BBQ with our good friends the Thaynes, my birthday, saying good-bye to our dear friends the Watsons as they moved across the country, baby showers for friends, Mothers' Day, end-of-school parties, the annual school Dance Festival, a weekend visit from Mom and Cliff, read-a-thons, birthday luncheon for my friend Tiffany, swimming, piano lessons, and so forth.

Whew!

Here are a few of the highlights in pictures:
Yes, yes he did smear that chocolate into the back of his hair...
Piano recital:

This is Katelee with her friend Amanda, who sadly moved the following week to Connecticut.
I was thoroughly spoiled this year for my birthday and Mother's Day!
Katelee filled out this cute questionnaire for me in primary for Mother's Day.
Ha ha!  She is so funny!

And I am in love with this boy's eyes.

Blake is growing up so fast!  He LOVES animals, LOVES to climb up on things (heaven help us!), and LOVES to run and jump.

Here he is being tickled, which he also loves!  Although, by the time the video started I had been tickling for awhile already, so he's getting tired of it by this point...

When Grandma and Cliff came to visit, they spoiled the kids with huge lollipops.

Katelee participated in a Dance Festival at school, which was ADORABLE!  She did a great job and was very excited!  Unfortunately, my camera battery was low, so hopefully I can get the pics/video from my friends who were with me soon.

The first day of summer, we decided to throw a POOL PARTY!  We served sunshine cupcakes, watermelon and juice, and invited some of our friends over for swimming and fun to celebrate the beginning of summer vacation!  Yay!  We love having the pool open; we go swimming practically every day!

Yummy treats, mom!

I also want to mention that the night of May 31st, Gerald came home from work to tell me he had been laid off from his job.  We have been so amazed with the peace we have felt.  We know Heavenly Father is blessing us as we discover what is next for Gerald's career and our family.
