August 2013 - Outdoors

I think we spent the entire month of August outdoors!  Between park visits and spending our days at the pool outside our front door, we definitely got plenty of sun this month!  With school starting at the end of the month, we tried to cram in all the play and sunshine we could before summer officially ended.

One of our very favorite people from Denver, Kassandra, came to visit us near the beginning of August!  We had a wonderful time with her.  We had a sleep over, went to the park, went swimming, and more!

Oh, man, I love this face!

These two!!  I think they were meant to be sisters.  :)
We were all so sad when it was time for Kassandra to leave.  We sure loved having her!

Luckily, we had new house guests only a few hours after Kassandra left.  Annalee and Gretchen Rowe came for the weekend, and Ethan joined us from Provo for lots of games, good food, and swimming.  We had a wonderful time seeing them!

Preparations for back-to-school happened in August as well.  We had a great time school shopping with cousins, and Katelee modeled her new clothes for the camera back at home.  I love how she strikes a pose!  :)

Here are some pictures of the first day of school!
I can't believe this bright, gorgeous, confident, amazing girl is mine, or that she is already beginning 2nd grade!
This year our sweet friend Missy is going to be spending an hour or so at our home in the mornings before school.  These two girls are ready to take on 2nd grade!
The Annual First-Day-Of-School Big Cookie!

With sister gone to school, this little stud muffin and I have a lot more alone time together.  :)
We can spend that time riding bikes...
climbing...
studying the ants...
or (my favorite!) staring into these gorgeous blue eyes!
Katelee is obsessed with pipe cleaners.
She is very creative with them.   One silly day, for dinnertime, Katelee made us all pipe cleaner head accessories to wear - ha ha!
The month ended with more time at the park!  It has been a great summer; we are sorry to see it coming to an end.
